Medvedev ratified Russian-French labour migration agreement

Russia has fully ratified the bilateral agreement with France on temporary employment of citizens of one state on the territory of another state. Relevant federal law was signed by President Dmitry Medvedev on Tuesday.

As we reported earlier, the purpose of the agreement is mutual simplification of immigration procedures related to employment or studying. In particular, employees of representative offices and holding companies, executives and highly skilled professionals won't be related to foreign labor force quota. Also, in order to work it will be possible to prolong a stay for up to three years without leaving the territory of the residence country. In addition, the French traveling through the Russia are exempt from the procedure of registration for up to ten working days.

The federal law would enter into force 10 days after the official announcement, which can be expected tomorrow.
